"So far it is my experience that many medical doctors reject what is considered holistic practice. I have also found that many in Holistic medicine and/or practice reject medicine as it is practiced today. Both sides need to work together for the best possible option for the family. We must strive to preserve individualism, use what we can of both sides and stay in control of our destiny. It is my desire that I not just assist you at birth, but that I may be a great support  during pregnancy, labor, and birth. I support you whatever your decision may be!"

Doula Services
"Helping a woman in labor involves much more than simple tasks, it involves empathy, intuition and inspiration, it is an art"    Michelle O'dent

Prenatal, Labor and Birth

Once contracted with parents we will meet at least once before estimated date.  This is to discuss what your expectations, birth preferences, and further details. Once in labor I attend labor and birth from beginning to birth and up to two hours after birth.  My phone is always on, we never know when a mom will go into labor or what kind of support she will need, so therefore my phone is on to help in whatever way possible.  I do my best to have a backup doula for every birth.  My job is to support you in whatever way you need to be supported.

I encourage all parents to take a childbirth class of their choice to help prepare themselves.

I work with HypnoBirthing®
parents as well as parents that have taken or are taking another childbirth class.  I support you in whatever your choice may be.

As a doula, Gina Kochany creates a calm birthing environment by using aromatherapy, music, hypnotherapy and as well as wealth of other tools.

Hey Gina,

To me, there are two types of doulas, a birth doula and a postpartum doula, both of whom are treasured and wonderful.  I think of a birth doula as a labor, delivery, and early postpartum support; a trained and very comforting woman helping another woman through this magical (and often painful and complex) experience.  She is also a support to the mother's partner and helps him/her assist the mother better.  I think of a postpartum doula as a support to the mother and the whole family once the baby has been born.  She helps the mom and the other family members with the transition.  Her role can change frequently depending on the needs, and assists the mom what she need done in order to have time to care for her new baby and family.

I've been fortunate enough to have both in my life, and I think birth and postpartum doulas are very special, generous, and wonderful women!

Childbirth Education/Classes and Doula Services

HypnoBirthing®, the Mongon Method, childbirth classes provide a wealth of information, you receive a book,  CD's,and a packet. You and your birthing partner (whomever you choose that to be) will receive not only instruction on what to do in the midst of giving birth, but will be taught relaxation techniques for before, during and after birth.  We help women learn to not resist but to  "surrender" to what their bodies are doing and tune into their natural instincts.
We go over the history of birth, how your uterus works, how our mind works and many more aspects of the birthing journey that is beneficial, as well as, vital to a healthy childbirth.  It is our belief that giving birth is a partnership, and partners will be given specific instruction.  Each class will have a hypnosis session and the relaxation techniques will be taught to the birthing partner.  This class is 5 sessions in length and each class duration is 2 1/2 hours long.
Our Classes are co-taught by Gina Kochany and
James Womack. Both are certified HypnoBirthing Practitioners as well as Hypnotherapist. Our class is unique and is enhanced by being facilitated by haveing both the woman's perspective as a doula, woman, childbirth educator, mother, grandmother as well as the mans perspective as a dad, grandfather, and childbirth educator. Gina and James bring a wealth of experience into each class.  James has been a Hypnotherapist for over 40 years and HypnoBirthing practitioner since 2005.  Gina has been a Hypnotherapist for the last 14 years, A  active HypnoBirthing practitioner for the last 10 years and a doula for 10 years.

The Mongon Method

HypnoBirthing® - The Mongan Method is as much a philosophy as it is a technique. The concept of HypnoBirthing® is not new, but rather a "rebirth" of the philosophy of birthing as it existed thousands of years ago and as it was recaptured in the work of Dr. Grantly Dick-Read, an English obstetrician, who first forwarded the concept of natural birthing in the 1920s. The method teaches you that in the absence of fear and tension, severe pain does not have to be an accompaniment of labor. You will gain an understanding of how the birthing muscles work in perfect harmony--as they were designed to--when your body is sufficiently relaxed. You will learn how to achieve this kind of relaxation, free of the resistance that fear creates, and you will learn to use your natural birthing instincts for a calm, serene and comfortable birthing.  HypnoBirthing® teaches women how to eliminate fear, so that they experience an easier more comfortable birth, the same peaceful experience that women in other cultures have practiced for centuries. The extreme relaxation of HypnoBirthing® promotes the natural release of the body's own endorphins, which are 200 times stronger than morphine.
